The anarkali gown flares wide from a fitted bodice, so the volume begins high on the ribcage and drops in one unbroken line to the ankle. That line suits anyone who wants a little coverage through the midsection and movement everywhere else. Sizes run XS to 5XL, plus size 4XL and 5XL included, and the flare stays generous at every one of them.

Net over satin is doing the real work here. The net overlay carries floral machine embroidery and allover sequins; the satin beneath gives the skirt enough weight to swing rather than cling to the legs. Ivory white right through, with a V-neck and sheer sleeves worked in matching embroidery, both of which keep the upper half light against all that fabric below. The hem is worked as well, so the gown reads finished from every side of a room.

Wedding receptions, sangeet nights, a milestone birthday dinner. The matching net dupatta, sequinned and embroidered like the gown, is included, so styling is mostly a question of restraint: pearl studs, a small metallic clutch, hair off the face. Heels help the hem sit clear of the floor, and a petticoat is not needed since the satin layer is built in. Dry clean only. Sewn at our Jaipur unit, where women make up around 80% of the workforce.
