Chikankari on white cotton is the one combination that never looks wrong in an Indian summer, and the reason people keep returning to it is the thread work rather than the colour. Self-tone embroidery catches light at one angle and disappears at another, so the same set reads plain for office wear and dressed enough for a mehendi.
