Hand embroidery sits along the sleeves, across the buttons and around the side pocket of this co-ord, which is an unusual place to put needlework and the reason the set looks made by a person rather than a machine. The stitching is done in Jaipur, where 80% of our workforce are women artisans, and no two pockets come out identical.

The base is cotton flex in a deep mustard yellow: breathable, a shade more structured than plain cotton, and able to hold a collar shape through a full day at a desk. The kurta has a collared neckline with a front button placket, and matching straight fit pants come with it. Nine sizes, from XS up to plus size 5XL, are stocked.

Office wear first, then festive daytime. A Navratri lunch, a brunch, a long travel day, a family function that starts at noon. Mustard is warm against most skin tones and needs very little beside oxidised silver and juttis, though a structured handbag pulls it towards workwear if that is the day you are dressing for. Machine wash cold, iron on the reverse so the embroidery keeps its raised finish, and skip the dryer.
