Buti printing carries this one. Small blue floral motifs scatter across the chest and repeat down the body at spaced intervals, printed rather than embroidered, so the surface stays flat and nothing snags on a bag strap. Look closely and the repeat is deliberate: heavier across the yoke, sparser near the hem. The mustard ground under it is solid and even.

Cotton, and light enough for a Jaipur summer. The kurti is straight cut and knee length, with a round neck opened by a small keyhole at the centre and 3/4 sleeves that clear the wrist when you type. Sizes go XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and 3XL, and the fit is slim without being tight. Cotton also creases, so a quick press before you leave the house sorts that out.

Office wear before it is anything else. It sits over leggings for a working week, over jeans on a Saturday, over white palazzos with silver jhumkas when a colleague gets married. It also folds into a bag without complaint. Cold wash and shade drying, and the blue holds against the mustard for a long time. One kurti in the box, no bottom and no dupatta.
