Embroidery sits in two bands on this kurti: one across the chest and one along the lower hem, leaving the middle deliberately plain. Placing the work at the top and the bottom is what keeps a white on white piece from reading blank, and it is also why the kurti looks better in person than it does on a screen.

The cloth underneath is pure cotton, knee length, straight cut, with a round neck and 3/4 sleeves that clear the wrist. Nothing is lined, so the weight stays low and the fabric moves air on a hot afternoon. The size range covers XS to 3XL.

White works hardest in summer, over white leggings or a matching salwar for a day function, or under a printed jacket once evenings cool down. Metallic accessories lift it for an evening out; a light shawl takes it back to casual. Wash it alone in cold water and dry it in shade, and the white stays white rather than going cream at the seams. Skip bleach entirely, since it weakens the embroidery thread before it touches the base cloth. Made in Jaipur, in a workshop where roughly 80% of the artisans are women.
