White thread on a black ground is what makes this one worth looking at twice. The chikankari is hand worked across the front of the kurti and carries on down the 3/4 sleeves, and because pale thread against dark cotton has nowhere to hide, every stitch stays legible. Chikan work usually lives on pastels and whites. Put it on black and it reads far sharper.

The base cloth is 100% cotton, so despite the colour it stays wearable through a long evening indoors and through a warm afternoon if the room has a fan. The cut is straight, calf length, with a notch neckline. One kurti is what arrives; pants and dupatta are bought separately. Seven sizes exist for it, XS at one end and XXL and 3XL at the other.

Party wear is where it lands most often, alongside family celebrations and the evening half of a festival day. Contrast palazzos, straight white trousers or black cigarette pants all sit well under it. Antique jewellery and a slim clutch are enough to finish it. Turn it inside out for a cold wash so the embroidery keeps its raised finish, and dry it flat.
